Franklin Foer (; born July 20, 1974) is a staff writer at The Atlantic and former editor of The New Republic, commenting on contemporary issues from a liberal perspective.[1]
Personal life
Foer was born in 1974 in Washington, D.C.
to a Jewish family.[2][3] He is the son of Albert Foer, a lawyer, and Esther Safran Foer, the child of Holocaust survivors from Poland. He is the elder brother of novelist Jonathan Safran Foer and freelance journalist Joshua Foer.[4]
He graduated from Columbia University[5] in 1996 and lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife and two daughters.[6]
