Catherine O’Hara is a renowned Canadian-American actress, comedian, and writer.

She has won several awards including a Genie Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and five Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, she was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canad, In 2020, she was honored with the Governor General’s Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award.
O’Hara’s fame as an actress came in 1974 as a member of The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto.
In addition, she began her significant television role in 1976-1984, starring opposite Dan Aykroyd and John Candy in the main cast of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie. The following year, 1976-1984, Catherine and Candy started work on the sketch comedy series Second City Television, drawing acritical acclaim for both her work as a comedic actress and writer.
