          Eben Christopher UptonCBE FREng DFBCS[4][5] (born 5 April 1978) is the Welsh CEO of Raspberry Pi Holdings.[6][7][8][9] He is responsible for the overall software and hardware architecture of the Raspberry Pi device.[10][11][12] He is a former technical director and ASICarchitect for Broadcom.[13]

          Eben Upton was born in Griffithstown near Pontypool, Wales, where his mother is from; his father is linguist Clive Upton.

          He lived in Lae in Papua New Guinea between the ages of eight weeks and two and a half years. He then returned to the UK where he grew up and was educated at schools in Leeds, Birmingham and Ilkley.[2][14][15]

          Upton completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics and Engineering in 1999 at the University of Cambridge where he was an undergraduate student
