          Early years

          Abie Nathan was born to a Jewish family in Abadan, Persia, on 29 April 1927 and spent his adolescent years in Bombay (now Mumbai), India.

          Abie was born on the 29th of April in the Persian city of Abadan (today part of Iran), the third child in a traditional Jewish family.
